Two days preparing for your guided alpine trip. To do this we plan two long days in the mountains linking grade 2 and 3 scrambles in North Wales.
We’ll begin the course by discussing what experience you have and identifying the skills you need to gain to have a successful alpine trip. We’ll then come up with a plan for how to achieve your aims over the next two days.
We aim for will long days covering a lot of terrain to prepare you, but there’ll be lots of opportunity to practise skills and ask questions on your upcoming trip.
-
You need to have good UK mountain fitness, able to scramble 800-100m of ascent with a bag in boots.
It is beneficial if you know how to put a climbing harness on and belay.
-
You will be required to have your own boots and suitable clothing for the mountains according to the kit list supplied. You’ll also need to bring your own lunch and drink.
All ropes, climbing hardware and emergency group kit is supplied. Climbing harnesses and helmets can be supplied if required.
-
The two days are run at a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 2 climbers.
-
We will meet at the A5/A55 services at 8.30am on the first day of the course.
If this meeting place is difficult or very inconvenient for you please get in contact as it can be adjusted.
